Sabuda Pop-up Book of the Chronicles of Narnia

sabuda.jpg

This is a little shameless promotion for my brother, Matthew Armstrong, who is the illustrator of this amazing new pop-up book, engineered and designed by Robert Sabuda. It really is lovely and would be a perfect Christmas gift. Plus, on Amazon, it's currently under $20.

Elum Journals

Oh my. I can't decide which of these journals from elum I like better. There are some other designs, too, that are really beautiful.

And be sure to check out their new releases in Stationary. They have some really sweet cards.

Clear Cut Press

Speaking of books, I'll just mention a book I'm reading at the moment, thanks to a friend. There's a darling little puplisher called Clear Cut Press that prints little paperback books. The book I'm reading is Frances Johnson (A Novel) by Stacey Levine. I'm only half way through, but it's a pretty fun story about a girl figuring out who she is. I haven't read any of the others, but I will say, I approve of their book covers (I really do judge books by their covers). They're fairly inexpensive too. From the About Us section on their site:

Clear Cut is inspired by early 20th-century subscription presses Hours Press and Contact Editions, and by the midcentury paperbacks of New Directions and City Lights

and

The books are pocket-sized and durable. They are printed in Tokyo by TOPPAN in a standard Japanese format with colorful dust jackets and built-in bookmarks.

Makes for awesome little books. Check them out!
