Loops Designs

I stumbled across this Etsy shop today called Loops Designs (designs by Sarah Dible). She has really amazing designs created by hammering sterling silver (and oxidizing some of them). Being in the jewelry industry myself, and having a partner who can do this amazing stuff, makes me love and appreciate freehand designs. So! Here are some of her awesome designs!

Aqua Oxidized

Baroque Champagne Pearl

Red Berries

Hummingbirds Treasure

Fiddlehead Too

Opulent Chaos

Check out ALL of her designs, they are equally amazing!

pokkadots.com

Since I'm expecting a little one in two months, I'm totally in baby mode, searching for cute baby bedding, clothes, etc. A friend of mine pointed me to the lovely website of pokkadots.com which has the most adorable bedding! It's perfect because it's not SUPER baby (like cartoon farm animals everywhere, etc.). Maybe these aren't baby enough for you, but I find them super classy.

Dwellbaby Robin Clover Bedding Set

Dwellbaby Garden Crib Set

Dwellbaby Robin Motif Crib Set

Pink Dot (crib to toddler) Set

They have plenty of other great stuff (including great diaper bags too!), so make sure to check out their website!

Magnets

Ok just a few more things I found on Etsy at a store called boygirlparty. Magnets!

You can also get these and other designs as buttons (aka pins).

Not a magnet, but I loved the owl design used frequently at boygirlparty. I want these notecards.

You can find lots more information about the artist and her products at her real website, boygirlparty.com.

Coin Purses

I know Etsy is old news for most people, but I'm just discovering it. I like sifting through its contents while I'm watching tv (currently it's The Office). I really like these coin purses from Hollyhawk.

Broken-Hearted Space Man

I mostly like that this space man is broken-hearted. I'm a sucker for love stories.

Fear & Trembling

vladmaster.jpg

I am very curious about this. I found it while browsing through etsy. Here's the description from the site:

"Vladmasters are handmade viewmaster disks designed, photographed, and hand-assembled by Vladimir. They make use of toys, neglected household objects, and other ephemera to tell 28-picture stories. The Fear & Trembling Vladmaster set features four disks, a box to keep them in, and a mini-CD soundtrack.

Fear & Trembling is about a dinner party as seen from inside the head of someone who probably shouldn't have come. Escape is sought and perhaps found. The found-sound soundtrack is by Morgan Hobart and features a blip noise to cue the change from photo to photo."

Hand-Made Valentines

vals3.jpg

Maybe it's because i'm writing my thesis on valentines that I like them so much lately and see the significance of them. Or Maybe I'm writing my thesis on them because they've always appealed to me. Either way, I'm excited for the valentines season, especially because of cinnamon gummi-hearts. Oh wait, I mean, especially because of hand-made valentines. Martha Stewart, of course, has some great suggestions on how to make simple ones on her site. These are geared towards kids, but you could always spruce them up and make them more elegant.

Amped Up

I don't play guitar or anything, but all of a sudden I want to. I did a google image search for "honeytone," hoping to see what color Kylie's babyroom was recently painted, but instead I stumbled across this.

MC_N10Y.jpg

It also comes in brown and a nice light green. It's so tiny that you can clip it on your belt! I have no idea if this is any good as far as amps go, but it is adorable. You can probably find it all over the place, but I got the picture from here.

Lumens Light + Living

I discovered Lumens Light + Living; when my husband bought me these birds for a Christmas present (only, we got blue ones). I think we are going to put them in the baby's room. Anyway, it was fun looking through the different things they also sell. This place has a variety of designers and products which can make for a fun, modern look in your house.

Catia Chien Illustrations

A while ago, my brother had a comic included in an anthology called Put the Book Back on the Shelf, featuring 24 comics inspired by Belle & Sebastian songs. (You can get it from Amazon if you're interested.) I was flipping through it again tonight. Other than my brother, of course, my favorite contributor is Catia Chien. I wanted to see some more of her work, so I just visited her website. I really like these pieces, among others.

Pillows!

Someday I want all sorts of plush pillows. I don't know what I'll do with them. Maybe I'll have a pillow closet from which I can choose a few to throw on my bed, chair, whatever. But that'll have to wait for another time, especially these pillows from 2Modern because they're quite costly. But they sure are lovely.

Wedding Announcements

Remember how I mentioned a lot of great wedding invitations from Bride magazine? Well, I've been putting off reading my students' papers by checking out some of the websites they had listed.

KenzieKate Invitations has some beautiful designs. I love this one, but it's just one among many!

kenziekate_stockholm.jpg

(Also, be sure to check out the KenzieKate blog.)

Lion in the Sun has some more modern, crisp designs. I like the booklet style of this invitation.

More invitations to come in the future.

Osborne & Little Wallpapers

Wow, Katie is really showing me up on this blog! So here I go!

I believe I saw this first on Oh Happy Day recently, but I have been so in love with these wallpapers at Osborne & Little that I have gone to their website and looked at them repeatedly. We are in the process of seeing if we can find some good, classy wallpaper and this stuff is to die for. We'll start with my favorite:

Wild Carnation

Palymyra

Elodie

Lakemount

I just love those nice metallic ones. Who knows if we'll ever be able to afford it but man, isn't that classy?

Accordian Photo Albums

Ok, here's one more thing for today. Accordian photo albums by Rag and Bone Bindery (but also available on Jenni Bick). It comes in a lot of different fabrics, but I like these pictured.

(Btw, I found Jenni Bick because it is a sponsor for This I Believe, which is a fantastic little project that I'm currently using for my English 106 students. They are fun to browse through.)

Scented Pencils

Remember those delicious-smelling markers you used to use as a kid? I loved those. Well, here's a more grown-up version. Scented pencils found at Jenni Bick Bookbinding.

Bookshelf Edition Boardgames

I saw these boardgames at Target when I was doing my Christmas shopping. I love the classic look to them, but I also like that you can line them up on your bookshelves. It makes you look smart and stylish. Plus, then you have some great games to play when people come over. Except, I wouldn't recommend Sorry. I hate that game, even if it is currently on sale.

Stemware

I used to love to set the table for special occasions when I was growing up because that meant I could bring out my great-grandmother's crystal. It just makes everything look so elegant. Even though I'm a teetotaler, I still plan on having (or inheriting) my own stemware, so I like to look around. I still haven't found anything I like as much as my great-grandmother's, but these are pretty nice. The first is Vera Wang and the second is Waterford. I found them both on the Macy's website.

I also LOVED these decanters by Calvin Klein. They have such clean lines, almost like some of Constantin Brancusi's work.

Elum Notecards

I love stationery. Even in junior high I always wanted to stop by Tabula Rasa when slacking at the mall so I could croon over notecards, blank books, and sealing wax. I flipped through a bridal magazine when I was getting my haircut last week and found, as to be expected, some great ideas for announcements, which led me to some great letterpress websites. There are too many to post all of them right now, so I'll be coming back to them from time to time. Anyway, here's one site, elum, where you can find these darling notecards. I love the envelopes, too. You can pick up a set (10) of the first example for $16. Unfortunately, the second example is out of stock right now.

New Year, New People, New Stuff

Hi. I'm new around these parts. My name is Katie Elaine, and I finally convinced Kylie to let me start participating. I've been an avid reader of style blogs for a while, but posting will be a new (ad)venture for me. I'm a little nervous. I wanted to post something on my first go around that would just blow you out of the water. Something that would make you sit up and take notice and say, wow, now this girl has style! But something you'll soon find out is that I don't know if I have style or not. (Here's a secret: I really just like to post things on the Internet.) So rather than never post because I'm too intimidated by my own expectations, I've decided to just throw something out there.

I saw these vinyl coasters in a little boutique when I was visiting Boone, NC. Since then I've seen them a lot online and such, but I still think they're cool. I only wish, though, that you could pick out your own label instead of just getting a pack of 6. Although, on one website, they did ask which genre you wanted. You can pick these up off amazon, or other websites, for about $20.
